Market Board
Market Crossroads unlocks a town board where citizens can post resource requests backed by escrowed rewards. The board is opened from the town menu or /market.
- Use /market post <want_item> <want_amount> <reward_item> <reward_amount> to create an order.
- Posting removes the reward immediately and charges an Emerald listing tax into the town treasury.
- Click an order in the board or use /market fulfill <order_id> to complete it.
Fulfillment Loop
A fulfiller brings the requested goods and receives the escrowed reward. The town receives the delivered goods as logistics, not loose chat promises.
- Delivered goods first stock the town's next level or eligible civic project if that item is needed.
- Any surplus goes to the town treasury.
- Every completed order records a Tax Receipt and adds town score.
Treasury Use
The treasury is the tax chest and surplus store for the market lane. It exposes the resources that did not fit a current project but still matter to the town plan.
- Use /market treasury to audit tax receipts, listing emeralds, and surplus goods.
- Market Steward XP comes from posting and fulfilling orders.
- Quartermasters should post requests for the next visible bottleneck instead of hoarding private materials.
Trade Routes Foundation
The next market layer is route-backed trade between towns. Mayors and trusted members should be able to open the live map, click another town, and propose a trade order along a visible route.
- Towns need production identities so trade has a reason: farms export food, mountain towns export stone and ore, ward towns export cleansing supplies, and market towns broker orders.
- Regional weights are intentionally soft rather than exclusive: plains favor wheat and provisions, snowy towns favor potatoes and spruce, swamps favor mushrooms and alchemy, mountains favor raw ore and Mine Reports, and rivers favor fish, clay, kelp, and copper.
- Farmer, Mining, Mason, Ward, and Market stations push those regional weights further so neighboring towns have practical reasons to trade instead of all producing the same stock.
- Roads, bridges, and cleared terrain should improve delivery speed, route score, and caravan reward quality.
- Corruption and Ambush Route danger sites should slow or block nearby routes until players cleanse or defend them.
- Caravan Siege should become the combat event that protects or repairs valuable routes.
Practical Checklist
- Build Market Crossroads before relying on trade orders.
- Post requests for the next town project bottleneck, not random surplus.
- Audit /market treasury after fulfillment so taxes and surplus stay visible.
